Tom is the owner and main operator of From Above.
A CAA approved UAV pilot who has always had an obsession with flight. From flying microlight aircraft, to paragliding, kites and model aircraft....if it flies, Tom is interested.
The set up of From Above was realised after visiting the Gran Canyon when Tom saw filming in progress for a Hollywood film using state of the art drones. He couldn't believe the capabilities of the drones and had to look further into the industry. Skip forward a year, Tom now has a fleet of drones, CAA PfCO licence, mapping and modelling qualifications and a small team behind the scenes of what From Above produce. The business is going from strength to strength and today, there is little in the aerial services world that From Above cannot produce.
In his spare time, Tom still enjoys flying microlights and travelling to new places when the diary allows it!
Richard joined From Above in the Summer of 2019. He passed his PfCO licence and helps out Tom when jobs required more than one operator.
Richard has a background in cyber security and is a real computer geek at heart. The constant advancements with drone technology, together with the wide ranging jobs From Above accept, are hobby and work all rolled into one for Richard.
Richard lives in the Lake District where he is always capturing stunning landscape photos and runs his other business - a beautiful air bnb venue.
Dan has recently joined the From Above team using his expert skills in video editing.
Dan works for the BBC and has always had a passion for computing and a big flair for creativity. Years of practising means Dan now has some impressive video editing skills using top of the range software.
Adventure loving, Dan never turns down an opportunity to travel and no doubt won't be happy until he's seen every corner of the globe!
